Come together, only to burst apart
Union Station, 801 E. Douglas
Alexandra feels her work is about magic. She is interested in experiences that are inexplicable through words, difficult to attach an appropriate vocabulary, and rely on sound, light and architectural space to create a minimalist aesthetic. For her residency, Alex created an immersive landscape of green light within a small interior within Union Station. Visitors left the vastness of the former train station to enter a cocoon of sound and light, with polished metal geometric sculptures down the center of the installation, acting as industrial reflecting pools for the light emanating from the far end of the room.
