Hearts in Hand: A Veteran Art Coalition Workshop

05/31 10 AM – 2 PM

Harvester Arts and the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, NAMI Wichita, COMCARE of Sedgwick County and Live Connected Kansas invite artists — whether they are Veterans, service members, their families, or supporters — to join us for Hearts in Hand, a special workshop dedicated to creating art with purpose.

During this hands-on event, participants will create original artwork to be reproduced on Caring Contact notecards — brief, heartfelt messages sent to Veterans and their families after discharge from emergency or crisis care. These notes are part of a proven suicide prevention initiative that offers continued connection and care during critical moments.

All skill levels are welcome — whether you’re a practicing artist or simply want to contribute through creative expression.

Art supplies will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own materials as well.

This workshop is free and open to the public.

A Soft Place to Land by Jill Luton

A Soft Place to Land is an interactive installation aimed at exploring the comforts we seek in the natural world and textiles. In blending the two together, the viewer is invited to breathe easy, take off some of the burden they carry, and land softly into a world of color and flowers.
