From the artist: My work includes Acrylic Paintings and Hand Pulled Original Prints with a focus on the Legacy & Changes that have taken place over time to the planet Earth (Geologically & Environmentally). This includes the Legacy handed down to us by the first known artists who lived in an environment that has almost completely disappeared due to climate change and human development.
From the Artist: Welcome to the depths of my mind. A self portrait series exploring abstract concepts of thought visualized. Effi is going down the rabbit hole again to reach deeper, more raw, and intimate concepts and expressions. Come see works a decades old and the new life breathed into the future.
“The wound is the place where the light enters you”
Light of the Wound is an invitation to explore how we think about trauma, in all its darkness and uncertainty, and how we interact with it after the traumatic event has passed. Inspired by a quote from Rumi and their personal relationship with trauma, Ramon Fonseca seeks to share the message that, though a traumatic event may inform how we navigate the world, it doesn’t have to define how we live in it.
The concept was born out of my long time work around getting comfortable with intimacy and how both I and those I love show up for it in soft ways. In the case of queer community I find the closeness akin to safety of netting which we can all catch one another with. I find that queer people find unique ways towards intimacy - intimacy that I feel can lend value to others. We command spaces making them our own.
