Lauren Martinez receives the WSU Harvester Arts Launch Award

May 30, 2019 | Kate

Congratulations Lauren Martinez!

Lauren is the recipient of our second annual Harvester Arts + WSU School of Art, Design, & Creative Industries Launch Award. The award started last year to give a graduating student from the School of Art, Design, and Creative Industries at WSU some hands-on experience with Harvester Art’s Riverfest Artist in Residence and other programming throughout the summer following graduation. She will also receive a $1,000 stipend.

Martinez will assist resident artist George Ferrandi with Jump!Star workshops and pop-up parades during the Wichita River Festival, which takes place May 31–June 8.

Harvester Arts confers the Launch Award to a recent ADCI graduate who is nominated by an ADCI faculty member. Martinez, nominated by Robert Bubp, graduated this spring with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art. See more about Lauren’s story here!

The 2018 Launch Award went to multimedia artist Alexis Rivierre, who earned her Master of Fine Arts in Art last May.
